Radka and Jakub Valovi are two architects and parents to a little Viking, Erik, who love wild nature and off-roading. Iceland is their favorite destination, though they also enjoy visiting cities, especially in the north, where they stay in stylish apartments and, as they put it, spend most of their time exploring pubs and architecture. They have a deep love for industrial and military structures, so in cities like Vienna, Berlin, or Hamburg, they delight in exploring bunkers and submarines or roaming docks among container ships. For Radka and Jakub, home is essential. They live in a beautiful black barn in the mountains, where the first anarchist printing press once operated, with views of the valley. As they put it, they love renovation and living so much that they didn’t demolish this ruin; instead, they maximized its potential. Their experience in renovation speaks for itself. This home is a place where they recharge, find peace, and feel their best. Their industrial roots carry over into their work, with their studio located in the multi-functional HAM Factory, previously the site of the first Prague ham factory.
